A village doctor is a physician who lives in the village and gives medical treatment to the rural people when they become ill. He is a popular figure in the village. He is familiar to almost every villager. He is not a qualified doctor. He is quack. He starts his career with the experience he had gathered by working with a doctor or in dispensary. So, he has a lot of practical experience. He can deal well with the common disease. He has a dispensary in a market place with an almirah., a chair, a table and one or two benches. His site in the dispensary and gives medicines. He receives the cost of medicine. Generally he works morning till late night. He goes in the village to see his patients. Generally he goes on foot. In absence of any qualified doctor, he examines the patient and renders useful services to the villagers. He is thus and important person to them.

A village doctor is a familiar figure and an important person in the village. He is knows to almost all the people of the village. His knowledge of medicine is very little. He is called a quack. He has to lead a very busy life. He has a small dispensary. His stock of medicine is very small. A village doctor’s dispensary is very ordinary. Most of his patients are old man, woman and children of the village. A village doctor is always active. He does not mind attend a patient house during the mid-night if necessary. Generally, the village doctor does not take any fee from the patient. He also helps the poor people with free medical advices as well as free medicine. He shares their weal and woe. He consoles them and hears those words of hope. He treats his patients with sympathy
